Lavender is an ancient herbal ally that has been used for over 2,500 years. The name comes from the Latin “lavare”, which means "to wash." Its uses have been documented in Ancient Egypt for cleansing, perfumery, embalming and mummification.

It has properties that cleanse the body both physically and energetically, as well as having a relaxing effect on the nervous system. During Medieval times and the Renaissance, it was recommended to women that they anoint their heart space and use lavender oil for breast massage to alleviate pain and increase breast milk production.
