10: NOSTALGIA

To Our Cherished Readers,

As this edition takes shape, Jessica finds herself curled up cosily in the wet and windy north of England with her latest pet-sit friend, Chubby the cat. This kind of weather lends itself perfectly to nostalgic, reflective days and moments of creative daydreaming.

B is currently visiting her sister down south, resting and recuperating in her happy place by the sea, near to where she spent her childhood. She is often reminded by her iPhone of past memories of her own 2 children and the many proud moments that they’ve showered her with over the years. Most recently, a glowing end of school report and dance distinction from her superstars. As her youngest finishes primary school and heads in the footsteps of his big sister, there is much to reflect on.

Life has changed significantly for many of us in recent years. For most of us it’s been a time of great crumbling, with a lot of people, places, jobs and situations gently falling away or abruptly parting ways. We both strongly believe that these moments are making way for something even better and that everything is always happening for us, even if it’s not easy to grasp in the moment.

Jessica has been dedicating time for the first half of this year on a significant healing journey of the womb and heart. As many things come up to the surface to feel, grieve, process and heal during these experiences, it’s been important to remember that the past provides an incredibly powerful space to learn and grow from, but is not a place to get stuck. Look back, but stay rooted in your current unfolding and keep moving forwards.

Whether you are currently longing for things, people or situations of the past; feeling homesick for places or people you haven’t yet met; or are reminiscing fondly on happy times, we hope that the stories and articles within the pages of our Nostalgia edition provide you some moments of joy, comfort or inspiration.

Love,

Jessica and B-2
